Event Cancelled

The WordCamp Jacksonville organizers convened today and had a lengthy conversation on moving forward with our event scheduled for the last weekend in March. Our decision was extremely difficult and honestly has left us completely broken-hearted. Due to our concerns over health and safety, we have decided to cancel WordCamp Jax 2020.

Over two thirds of our speakers were traveling from outside the Georgia / Florida area which is a huge risk for all involved. We had some recent speaker cancellations and, as the event gets closer, we fear we would not be able to provide the solid event you deserve.

We would like to thank speakers, sponsors, volunteers and attendees for supporting our community.

Full ticket refunds will be processed shortly. Please stand by while our team makes this one final pivot.

It is our intention to come back with a vengeance next year. We look forward to seeing all of our friends in 2021 when the dust settles.

Sincerely,

WordCamp Jacksonville

Accessibility at WordCamp Jacksonville

At WordCamp Jacksonville, we try to make everyone feel welcome. Accessibility is important to us, and we have the resources to assist you.

Accessibility For All The People

Accessing the Building

Whether you are in a wheelchair, have a broken foot, or just have bad knees, the building is accessible to you. In fact, the elevators are the primary way to get to the second floor.

Restrooms

If you need a private or more spacious restroom there is a single-occupancy restroom downstairs, past the security/registration desk.

Audio & Visual

For those that need special accommodations, please contact us directly at jacksonville@wordcamp.org. Whether you just need a seat up front, a sign language interpreter, or another sort of accommodation, please let us know in advance.

AfterParty

We have verified that Wicked Barley is accessible. Please contact them at (904) 379-7077 for a detailed descriptions of the facility.

Food

Please read our separate article, “Will There Be Anything For Me To Eat?”

Having a Problem?

We try our best to think of everything in advance, but we are humans and make mistakes. If we overlooked something, or you’re having a problem somewhere, please let an organizer know. We will do everything in our power to resolve your problem or concern in a satisfactory manner.

Volunteer Slots Left

WordCamp Jacksonville runs on Volunteers. From organizers to speakers and beyond, this WordPress themed camp runs much smoother with people like you pitching in.

Have you considered volunteering? Here’s what you need to know.

T-shirts for Everyone!

Who needs to pack extra clothes when WordCamp Jacksonville is back with their newest design with BELLA+CANVAS, tri-blend shirts. We are returning to the ever-popular v-neck for the women’s cut and will be offering up a selection of charcoal, red, and navy blue shirts in both men’s and women’s cuts for our attendees.

Grey, Navy, and Red Bella+Canvas triblend shirts

Just order your ticket by March 13th to receive one of these comfortable t-shirts. As past attendees can tell you, everyone looks and feels great in them!

For the men’s cut we have the Unisex Triblend Short Sleeve Tee. If you want to know the fine details of this model, you can view the exact dimensions here. Please note that some men find the chest to be a little snug (although not nearly so tight as an American Apparel Track Shirt). If you prefer a more loose-fitting shirt, you might consider ordering the next size up.

The women’s cut is the Women’s Relaxed Jersey Short Sleeve V-Neck Tee. It gives you a little more room than a lot of women’s t-shirts, but that doesn’t mean it will be baggy. You can view the exact measurements of the sizes here. If you have a larger bust size or prefer a looser-style shirt, you may consider ordering the next size up.

Will There Be Anything For Me To Eat?

If you are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-sensitive, or have any other major food allergy, you probably ask yourself this question before registering for any conference.

At WordCamp Jacksonville we like to answer that question with a resounding,

“YES!”

Whether your dietary restrictions are by choice or necessity, we want you to enjoy camp and be well fed. But don’t take our word for it, here’s what previous campers have said:

“[They] accommodated vegans, like myself, and others in our community with non-typical diets better than any WordCamp I’ve ever been to. They put a lot of effort into this effort and it made me feel so welcome at the camp. Also, those jackfruit burritos were so good!” – Josh Pollock, Lead Developer, Caldera Labs | WCJAX 2017

“The WordCamp Jacksonville crew made significant efforts to find snacks and food items that were not only edible, but weren’t the same old, tasteless, unreasonable standbys (i.e. gluten free = vegan salad). They investigated, cared and really tried to have options available and helped me feel included in our WordCamp community!” – Kat Roedell, Strategic Mentor, Ignite Business Planning Services | WCJAX 2016
