Who We Are Looking For
WordCamp Jacksonville is committed to opening our doors to speakers of all levels of experience and perspective. Whether you have never spoken before or regularly speak at WordCamps across the country, if you have a passion to share, then we encourage you to submit a topic. Even if you are from outside the WordPress community, if you have a topic you feel would benefit attendees, we welcome you to submit your ideas.
All speakers are asked to adhere to the WordCamp Code of Conduct, agree to the WordCamp Agreement and the A/V Release.
About The Process
Review: After the call for speakers closes, all selections and submissions are collectively reviewed by our organizers. We value new perspectives and so initial reviews are done blind, making it easier for new and diverse speakers to be selected. Please note that, unfortunately, we cannot accept all submissions.
Notification: You will receive an email as soon as possible notifying you whether or not your topic was selected.
Complimentary Ticket: If selected, you will receive a complimentary full conference pass. During the event, lunch will be provided along with swag and other goodies.
Preparation: We’ll have a designated Speaker Coordinator for you to contact for any questions you might have as you prepare and give your talk. We’ll also send along more details before the event, making sure you’re ready to go!
About Your Session
Timing: You will have between 30 to 45 minutes for your session (depending on final timelines.) We will let you know the exact length of the session at least 6 weeks prior to the event.
Format: Sessions can be in a variety of formats. Examples include: presentations, workshops, panel discussions, lightning talks, etc. Feel free to get creative!
Slides: Speakers will be provided with a projector and a screen for their presentation. Slides are not mandatory but are highly recommended.
Audio: Sessions will be recorded and often are shared on WordPress.tv. You will be asked to sign an A/V release form for that purpose.
