We will be hosting a special KidsCamp where parents and children can enjoy learning together, under the advisement of some of our WordPress Experts! These special, kid-friendly lessons will introduce your child to the wonderful world of WordPress and help them learn or improve upon WordPress development, design, and use skills! After the day is complete, your child will leave with their very own WordPress.com site up and running!
🎟 BUY A KIDSCAMP TICKET 🎟
All KidsCamp Tickets must be purchased by Friday, March 30th.
Parents/guardians MUST stay with their child during KidsCamp. Each child will need his or her own laptop to work on.
Each KidsCamp ticket provides your child with their very own name badge and swag, lunch, full-day KidsCamp on Saturday, and a complementary lunch for the parent/guardian. If the responsible adult wishes to attend WordCamp when KidsCamp is not in session, he or she must purchase their own general admission ticket.
We are accepting children from ages 7 to 14 to participate in these special lessons and spots are limited to only 20 students (not including their parental sponsors). Also, if you have an older child ready to learn some advanced topics, they are welcome to join us for the full sessions and workshops with a general admission ticket!
FAQs
Q: I bought a ticket for my child(ren) – if i stay with my child, do i need to buy a ticket for myself?
A: No, but without a ticket you will only receive access to lunch on Saturday. Without a ticket you will not be granted access to WordCamp as a whole.
—
Q: May I bring more than one child?
A:Â We recommend that any adult be responsible for no more than 2 children. They will need your assistance throughout the day, and managing more than 2 can become overwhelming.
—
Q: Do I need to bring a laptop?
A: You MUST bring your own laptop. Tablets can also work although they are slower for many young ones (and adults) to type on.
—
Q: What ages are appropriate?
A: The age range for this camp is 7-14.
—
Q: Who is teaching KidsCamp?
A: Sandy Edwards: Sandy taught her very first KidsCamp at WordCamp Orlando in 2015. She owns Data Driven Labs, a marketing firm that brings analytics to all size companies. She loves to give back by teaching kids about coding, WordPress, and other technical skills. Sandy is very active in the Orlando WordPress community and is excited to see what 2018 will bring to the tech space in Florida!
