Introducing Pantheon

What a pleasure to have Pantheon as one of our Beach Umbrella sponsors this year. Please take some time to get to know them.

Who or what is Pantheon?

Pantheon is a website operations platform used by top developers, marketers, and IT to build, launch and run their most important WordPress and Drupal websites.

Pantheon includes all of the tools professional developers need to build best-practice sites—like staging environments, version control, backups, and workflows. Powering over 200,000 sites and billions of pageviews a month, Pantheon’s container-based infrastructure allows you to launch websites faster, without worrying about spikes, security, or performance. It’s free to develop your site on Pantheon, you only pay once your site goes live. You can scale your site on the same infrastructure from day one, and never touch a server again. Create your free account now!

What makes Pantheon special?

With a world-class team of experienced WordPress support engineers available to help 24/7, you can rest easy knowing you’re always in good hands here at Pantheon. Pair that with our finely tuned, container-based infrastructure and you’ve got the same cutting-edge technology used by companies like Google, Salesforce and Facebook.

Why did you decide to sponsor WordCamp Jacksonville?

We are truly passionate about connecting and sharing our story with other WordPress enthusiasts in the community, which is why we could not be more excited to sponsor and support WordCamp Jacksonville this year.

We look forward to meeting you all soon!

Who will we be meeting at WordCamp Jacksonville?

Our very own Tessa Kriesel, Developer Outreach Manager will be in attendance.

Building community and teaching come naturally to dog-lover and Developer Outreach Manager at Pantheon, Tessa Kriesel. She wears many hats in her life — all with sass and finesse — including founder of Outspoken Women and Coders of TMRW.

Tessa has spoken on many topics, including helping beginners with their development workflows, mentorship, building communities, and shedding light on continuous integration and deployment. She has also been a panelist on a wide range of topics at Conferences and Meetups.

When Tessa isn’t working on her development chops or mentoring junior developers, she is using her extroverted super hero skills to make people feel welcome and included at whatever event she attends.

Accessibility at WordCamp Jacksonville

At WordCamp Jacksonville, we try to make everyone feel welcome. Accessibility is important to us, and we have the resources to assist you.

Accessibility For All The People

Accessing the Building

Whether you are in a wheelchair, have a broken foot, or just have bad knees, the building is accessible to you. In fact, the elevators are the primary way to get to the second floor.

Restrooms

If you need a private or more spacious restroom there is a single-occupancy restroom downstairs, past the security/registration desk.

Audio & Visual

For those that need special accommodations, please contact us directly at jacksonville@wordcamp.org. Whether you just need a seat up front, a sign language interpreter, or another sort of accommodation, please let us know in advance.

AfterParty

We have verified that Wicked Barley is accessible. Please contact them at (904) 379-7077 for a detailed descriptions of the facility.

Food

Please read our separate article, “Will There Be Anything For Me To Eat?”

Having a Problem?

We try our best to think of everything in advance, but we are humans and make mistakes. If we overlooked something, or you’re having a problem somewhere, please let an organizer know. We will do everything in our power to resolve your problem or concern in a satisfactory manner.

Will There Be Anything For Me To Eat?

Question Mark

If you are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-sensitive, or have any other major food allergy, you probably ask yourself this question before registering for any conference.

At WordCamp Jacksonville we like to answer that question with a resounding,

“YES!”

Whether your dietary restrictions are by choice or necessity, we want you to enjoy camp and be well fed. But don’t take our word for it, here’s what previous campers have said:

“[They] accommodated vegans, like myself, and others in our community with non-typical diets better than any WordCamp I’ve ever been to. They put a lot of effort into this effort and it made me feel so welcome at the camp. Also, those jackfruit burritos were so good!” – Josh Pollock, Lead Developer, Caldera Labs | WCJAX 2017

“The WordCamp Jacksonville crew made significant efforts to find snacks and food items that were not only edible, but weren’t the same old, tasteless, unreasonable standbys (i.e. gluten free = vegan salad). They investigated, cared and really tried to have options available and helped me feel included in our WordCamp community!” – Kat Roedell, Strategic Mentor, Ignite Business Planning Services | WCJAX 2016
