This may be a few weeks overdue, but we thought you still might want to know why we chose cows as our theme.<\/p>\n<p>The answer is: Cowford.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, that answer means nothing to many of you, so let&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitjacksonville.com\/things-to-do\/history\/\">dig deeper<\/a>. Sometime between 1763 and 1783, when Florida was controlled by Great Britain, they renamed this area Cowford, because it was a place the cattle could ford the St. Johns river.
